Preparing for Postpartum

New Family at Birth 2

Make the transition into parenthood as stress-free as possible!

Knowing that you want to take time to rest after your baby is born is one thing, but you really need to make a plan for this time in order to make the most of it, especially if you have only a short time off before returning to work or school.  I’ve never heard a new mother say she had too much postpartum support, but I have heard several wish that they had done more to prepare for after the baby was born.

I’ll help you create a plan that is right for you by drawing on traditional postpartum practices around the world.  I provide plenty of ideas, allowing us to customize the plan to fit your own needs.  The plan will be specific to you, your parenting style, family structure, and community.  We’ll talk about:

  • Creating a base of support.
  • Your partner’s role during the postpartum period.
  • How family and friends can help support you.
  • Using professional support and services.
  • A game plan for handling visitors.
  • Ideas for meals, household chores, and preparing the home.
  • Healing and recovering from birth.
  • A plan for money & legal matters.

How much does the Postpartum Plan cost?

A postpartum planning session is $45.  Session are typically 1 to 2 hours depending on level of support you needed.
