Lactation Consultations

Breastfeeding Mom

Breastfeeding is more than just a way to feed your baby.  It’s a relationship between you and your baby with many different emotions.  As a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), my role is to support you in reaching your own unique breastfeeding goals.  There are no hard and fast rules for what breastfeeding should look like.  You are the expert when it comes to your baby.  We will work together to come up with an individualized plan that works for you both.  I provide expertise and experience, as well as emotional support and encouragement to boost your breastfeeding self-confidence.  CLCs are often the only member of the healthcare team whose primary focus is on maintaining the breastfeeding relationship, so I serve as a breastfeeding advocate for you and your baby too.

Reasons why you might schedule an appointment:

  • You're pregnant and planning to breastfeed.  We can come up with a plan to help make breastfeeding as easy as possible from the start.
  • You are experiencing pain before, during, or after breastfeeding.
  • You're worried about your milk supply - either too little or too much.
  • You or your doctor have concerns about your baby's weight gain.  Or you're worried your baby isn't get enough milk.
  • You have questions about pumping or bottle feeding.  You need more information about alternative feeding methods.
  • You’re getting ready to transition back to work.
  • You have questions about starting solids.
  • You are ready to wean or need to stop breastfeeding.  You need support transitioning to formula feeding.
  • You have questions, concerns, or doubts about breastfeeding.

To Schedule An Appointment

If you need more information or would like to schedule an appointment, please call 303.601.5689.

Consultations are $60 per hour for an in-person visit, and $30 for phone consultations.  I bill in 15 minute increments.  There is an additional travel fee of $10 for home visits.  Payment for the consultation is requested at the time of service.  If requested, a lactation super bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company, however I cannot guarantee reimbursement for services.  I offer a sliding scale and free clinic days to meet the needs of all families.  If you have taken a 12-session Bradley Method class taught by me, you’ll receive 15% off lactation consultations.

Until your appointment, please keep a baby log including nursing sessions, wet/dirty diapers, sleeping patterns, etc. If this is your first appointment, you’ll be emailed the new client paperwork.  This does need to be completed for your appointment. | 303.601.5689
